Obama: "I inhaled. That was the point."

Obama is interviewed for his book tour, and the article briefly (very briefly) covers his thoughts on drugs, religion, and the current admin.

I never thought I would see the day when a politician would be honest. Obama, if he keeps on like he is, may yet bring me around to his cheering squad.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A HALF-BLACK MAN WHO ONCE SMOKED CRACK RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT. RUN FOR YOUR LIVES, THE WORLD IS ABOUT TO COME CRASHING DOWN AROUND US.

Just remember who you all last voted in for president -- twice -- then look beyond the media bull@!$%# for once in your life and concentrate on something other than HOMGDRUGZZZ *tailflitch*.

What he once did (and may still do, who knows) has absolutely no relevance to anything whatsoever. Let go of the past and find something proper to moan and @!$%# about if you can.

Another interesting development is that Obama is currently a cigarette smoker. In this PC world, I'm kinda surprised that wasn't brought up here.

Pundits are saying that is shows he's a real human; not an animal bred for office.

The New Republic has a Web-only piece on it at tnr dot com.

With politics being as they are these days, it's partially going to come down to 'who comes cleanest' in terms of popularity.

Unfortunately, this new tactic doesn't do much to draw focus back on, you know, the ISSUES.

Ive decided to change my mind on Obama. Id like to hear more about his stance on many key issues, but if he ran and I agreed with him, Id vote for him. It doesnt seem like any amount of time in Government really seems to have much bearing on how good a job they do. Although, historically being from the senate does not help in a run for the presidency.

Id still prefer a 3rd party person to give the finger to both parties but Im with the best person for the country regardless of party. However, I am not looking forward to Nancy Pelosi as the speaker. She is a great example of the type of person we do not need in a position of power. And no, the current group isnt much better.

This guy might, if he's not careful, just bring some respect to the House. I get the feeling he has an idea what common people think and feel. For some reason polticains think people are dumb and can't read between the lines (or the newspaper) or have no idea what body language looks like (looking your way kid Bushy). Obama knows you can't fool all the people all the time, and from the first time I seen him i knew this guy would bring some fresh blood into politics and so far he's going that way.
